How to deal with a friend who is constantly competing with you?

My best friend is always competing with me and fishing for compliments. It never use to be like this, but for the past couple months it is. I use to love spending time with her and we were so close and I was happy to call her my best friend. Now I've gotton to the point where I can't stand it and get so frustrated and annoyed. She's really a sensitive girl so I don't want to just say 'stop always trying to one-up me' I'm not sure what to do. If this has happened to any of you what did you do? I really just try to support her with what she does and like almost 'congratulate' her for doing what she did but now I just can't even listen to it, what do I do? All answers are greatly appreciated.
