A war of words?
My question after you read the story: (1) should I be upset when my mom said well you would NOT have known about the jewelry if you worked at the other company. (I mean the jewelry is very important thing to me) and (2) how you would interpret what my mom said. Background: I am working not to far from my house and I discovered a 99 cent store that sells jewelry for 99 cent but they really look like they could come from Lord & Taylor‘s, Bloomingdales, etc. STORY: Today after work I had a doctors appointment When I got to the doctors office I called my mom to let her know I arrived at the doctor so she would know when to prepare dinner. She always makes dinner because she gets home before I do. As I was talking to her on my cell she said she just heard on the news that a certain brand of printers can cause cancer. I told her I do not want to hear about it and hung up on her to avoid a fight. When I arrived home and we were eating dinner I told her I am not going to stop using my printer and she said she isn't expecting me to but one thing led to another and we had a little tiff. Then because she was mad at me she said; when you worked at XYX company that you loved working at and if you were still with them you could retire now with a lot of money. Her comment made me think that if I still worked at XYX I would have never have discovered the jewelry so I told her that in a way I am glad I am not at that company because then I would never have discovered the jewelry. My mom then replied "the job you are at you don't like ." Then I left the room but came back and asked her why she said I don’t like my job and she said to get rid of me because I was pestering her. But I said again how I am glad I discovered the jewelry and she again said well you would never have known about the jewelry. BUT KEEP IN MIND WE WERE IN A LITTLE TIFF
