Why do some people worship satan?

im curious as to why there are devil worshippers- if they believe that satan exists then dont they believe that God exists too and satan was thrown to hell by him. From something I read,They say that lucifer is the true god but then didnt lucifer hate humans like Adam so why do people worship satan?
