Which one of these fender stratocasters should i buy?
Hello! One of the main (and significant) differences between the two guitars is the fretboard radius. This may or may not be important to you, but it will definitely affect playability (especially if you are planning to bend the strings extensively). The Roadhouse has a 9.5-inch radius, whereas the Deluxe has the much flatter 12-inch. If you like the smaller radius, you may be better off with the Standard Stratocaster (see a href="http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Standard-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar-105156996-i1431991.gc" rel="nofollow"http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Stand…/a ), and applying the $100 price difference to purchase the pickups of your choice; unfortunately, the cost of replacing the maple neck on the Roadhouse would be impractical. If you like the larger radius (and also the wider choice of colors), go with the Deluxe and swap out the pickups later. As the other respondent suggested, try to play each instrument at a store; you may find that you don't really like the harsher tone (and accompanying single-coil noise) of the Texas Specials. Best regards, Dana
